The Denver Broncos are a professional American football team based in Denver, Colorado. They are members of the West Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Broncos began play in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL) and joined the NFL as part of the merger in 1970. The Broncos have played at Sports Authority Field at Mile High since 2001, after previously playing at Mile High Stadium from 1960–2000. Since 1975, the Broncos have been one of the NFL's more successful teams, having suffered only six losing records in 40 seasons. They have won seven AFC Championships and two Super Bowls, and have four players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: John Elway, Floyd Little, Gary Zimmerman, and Shannon Sharpe.

The Colorado Rockies are an American professional baseball franchise based in Denver, Colorado. They are currently members of Major League Baseball (MLB)'s National League (NL) West division. Their home venue is Coors Field. The Rockies won one National League championship in 2007. They mounted a rally in the last month of the 2007 regular season, winning 21 of their final 22 games, and reached the 2007 World Series. However, they were swept by the American League (AL) champion Boston Red Sox in four games.

The Nuggets are a member of the Northwest Division of the Western Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The team was founded as the Denver Larks in 1967 as a charter franchise of the American Basketball Association (ABA). The team joined the NBA in 1976 after the ABA–NBA merger and has had some periods of success, qualifying for the playoffs in nine consecutive seasons in the 1980s and doing the same for the previous ten seasons. The Denver Outlaws are a Major League Lacrosse professional men's field lacrosse team based in Denver, Colorado. They began playing in the MLL in 2006 as an expansion team. Since joining the league, they have been one of its more successful teams, having appeared in the championship game five times, though they have lost in four of those appearances. The Outlaws regularly post the highest attendance in the league. The Outlaws won their first MLL Championship 2014.
